Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to do anything to prepare for the refinishing process?

We ask that you check for any plumbing leaks and ensure that the tub surround is stable before the appointment. Please lightly clean the bathtub and the bathroom floor so that there is no dust to settle into the fresh paint. Lastly, we kindly ask that you remove all of your personal belongings from the bathroom, including the shower curtain, any artwork, and any towels on towel bars. The ensures that our technician is able to get started right away!

We will provide you with a preparation sheet with instructions and information about our procedures upon appointment booking.

What should I expect from a reglazing appointment?

We ask that any residents vacate the premises during the appointment time. As for your pets, please ensure that they are secured in another room or are off site. This ensures that our technician can work without interruption.

Our technician will set up a ventilation fan and cover the all the surfaces in the bathroom to prevent dust from leaving the bathroom or settling on other surfaces. After sanding down the tub, the technician will re-glaze the bathtub. This generally takes between 4-6 hours, depending on the services required and whether there are repairs needed.

How long until I can use my tub after it's reglazed?

You will be back to using your refinished bathtub only 24 hours after we're done! It is important that no water gets into the tub during this drying period so that the new finish doesn't lift or bubble.

How do I care for my freshly reglazed tub?

After the 24 hour drying period, the reglaze takes a full 90 days to cure (dry completely). During this time, we recommend that you clean and towel dry the tub after each use.

We recommend avoiding the following in order to get the most out of your new finish:

- keeping bottles, soaps, razors, etc. on the tub sill

- using abrasive cleaners or applicators

- using a bathmat with suction cups (NOTE: we do sell re-glaze friendly bathmats)

- dropping pointy or sharp objects in the tub

- dyeing your clothing or hair in the tub

We will provide you with detailed care and maintenance instructions after an appointment has been confirmed. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!

I'm doing other renovations in the bathroom. When should I reglaze my tub?

If you are replacing the bathtub surround or the flooring, we will reglaze your tub after these jobs are off your task list. This ensures that no debris from other renovations disturbs your fresh reglaze.

However, don't hesitate to call us if these are unfinished! We are more than happy to discuss your renovation timeline with you. Together, we can find a date that works for you and secure an appointment time.

Should I be concerned breathing in any fumes? What about my pets?

Pregnant women, infants, seniors, and/or people with respiratory conditions are encouraged to stay out of the unit beyond the appointment time or even overnight. While the materials we use are not toxic for you or your pet, the fumes do produce a strong smell. However, this will dissipate considerably within several hours with ventilation. Any decision to stay out of the residence for longer than the appointment is for your personal preference and not due to any safety concerns.
